Rev. Jordan Ware (aka “Mother Ware”) is a Yale Divinity School graduate. She now lives in Fort Worth, Texas where she has served for three years at All Saints’ Episcopal Church. Jordan is married to an elementary school teacher and has a retired greyhound dog – not a bus – named Thor. As of today(!) you can pre-order her book!
In the interview Jordan talks about an annual foot washing she leads in Fort Worth. At the foot washing they also provide shoes, which many participants find at least as valuable a blessing! We invite all of our listeners to send new shoes or financial contributions to the following address:
c/o Rev. Jordan Ware
5001 Crestline Rd.
Fort Worth, TX 76107.
Jordan is also launching her own podcast progressing all the way through the entire Bible! The podcast is called Two Feminists Annotate the Bible. She expects to start releasing episodes before October 2016. So be sure and go to that website and follow her now. That way you will be notified when the first episode comes out. You might as well start at Genesis 1:1 with Jordan on day one.
When Jordan was getting married this was the prayer at the top of her wedding website:
O God, you have so consecrated the covenant of marriage that in it is represented the spiritual unity between Christ and his Church: Send therefore your blessing upon these your servants, that they may so love, honor, and cherish each other in faithfulness and patience, in wisdom and true godliness, that their home may be a haven of blessing and peace; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
