Martha Spong has been raised up by a throng of similarly spirited women. She is the Executive Director of RevGalBlogPals(.org) and the Editor of There’s a Woman in the Pulpit. She’s a United Church of Christ minister who spoke to me while she was looking out the window on the steeple of her wife’s Presbyterian Church. She tells a great story about returning to preach at the Southern Baptist Church in which she was raised.
If “RevGalBlogPals” doesn’t sound like a movement that would command a lot of your attention or others’, think again. This group is kind and its members are simply living into their callings. There is no storm brewing because of their support of and friendships with one another. They may not be obnoxious enough to get everyone’s attention, but if you are a woman in ministry then you would probably be very glad to find them.
The Coffeepot Fellowship Daily Podcast is not the only group telling the stories of faith leaders. And United Faith Leaders is not the only group that believes in ecumenical and interfaith relationships. These are kindred spirits and Martha Spong is one of the souls tending the place where women can be their entire selves. There are many ways to experience Martha and The RevGalBlogPals.
